The Chelsea Black community has a nearly 400-year history, often overlooked in mainstream narratives. To honor this legacy, the Chelsea Black Heritage Walking Trail project seeks to document, preserve, and celebrate the contributions of Black residents.

 

Along with substantial story-gathering and archival work, this public art project would create a series of posts across the City decorated with art inspired by and telling of the stories of Chelsea’s Black community.
