About art-making
  • The process typically includes an initial consultation, site assessment, design proposals, feedback, and final execution. The best way to get started is to contact us. In the meantime, you can read an overview of the process below:

    1. Initial consultation: Discuss the vision, goals, and scope of the project.

    2. Site visit and research: Assess the location, gather insights, and understand community context.

    3. Design proposal: Develop concept sketches and preliminary designs for client review and feedback.

    4. Approval and revisions: Refine designs based on feedback and finalize the artwork plan.

    5. Production and installation: Execute the project with high-quality materials, ensuring durability and artistic integrity.

    6. Completion and maintenance planning: Provide guidance on long-term care and preservation of the artwork.

  • Yes. Golob Art has experience leading large scale and multi-site projects, collaborating with architects, developers, and city planners to ensure a cohesive artistic vision across multiple locations.

  • Our top priority is to use materials that will best fit the context, goals, and vision for your project. We use high-quality, durable materials suited to the project environment, including professional-grade acrylic paints, weather-resistant coatings, sustainable materials, metal, glass, and lighting elements. Each project is designed with longevity and maintenance in mind.

  • We typically install works ourselves or with the help of subcontractors. However, in certain cases where the client has maintenance staff or trusted contractors, we will collaborate to provide a safe installation of the public art.

  • The timeline varies depending on project size, complexity, and permitting requirements. From our initial conversation through design work, revisions, approvals, and execution, small murals may take 4–6 weeks, while larger projects can take several months. For an exact timeline, reach out to us.

  • Costs vary depending on scale, materials, complexity, and location. To get a quote, reach out to us so we can learn more about your project.

There are a variety of factors that go into the cost of each artwork. These factors include size, materials, site conditions, and design intricacy—as well as installation logistics, such as timeline, community engagement, and permitting.

  • Public murals can last several years—sometimes 10-20 years or more—depending on environmental conditions and maintenance. Protective coatings and periodic touch-ups help preserve the artwork’s vibrancy. For projects of a certain size and complexity, we offer third-party-verified maintenance plans.

  • Although vandalism isn’t common, Golob Art considers vandalism-mitigation for all works of public art. Vandalism could mean any sort of damage, including paint, scratches, and impact damage. We work with every project to make a cost-risk assessment of available vandalism-mitigation techniques along with potential options for repairing and restoring work that has been vandalized.
