Rivers in Color
Inspired by local D.C. rivers, this mural brightens a 120 foot Pre-K hallway
This 2,400 square foot abstract mural in the PreK hallway of D.C.'s Whittier Elementary School is a celebration of local rivers - the Potomac and the Anacostia and was painted with local volunteers of all ages. On one side the river appears as colorful interweaving strands, and on the other side the river is the negative space between blocks of color. It successfully creates a dynamic and engaging environment and brightens the space.
